Best Nintendo Switch 2 Accessories
Are you considering a Nintendo Switch 2 and want to get yourself prepared? Check out these accessories that will pair up perfectly with your new Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

If you're a gamer that loves to hook up to the TV and sit on the couch. Consider getting yourself an upgrade over the Joy-Cons with the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller. While considerably more expensive over the previous gen pro controller, it comes with the additional C button for "gamechat", an audiojack and microphone, and additional programmable shoulder buttons.
Though the first gen pro controller will still function with the Switch 2, you will be giving up some additional upgrades but at least the price is easier to swallow.
Nintendo Switch Camera

To video chat with your friends using gamechat, you are going to need a camera. Right now the one I would recommend would be the official Nintendo Switch 2 Camera which captures a clear 1080p image. While the HORI Piranha Plant Camera looks more fun and runs slightly cheaper, the video quality is limited to 480p which is ridiculous for a camera in 2025.
USB-C 100W Charging Cables

One of my favourite accessories is this simple 100W cable. Seriously! They're super cheap and the quality is second-to-none. I bought a pair for my Steam Deck and a portable power bank which we'll come to next. These are just too handy to ignore.
Portable Power Bank

The Switch 2 will reportedly have between 2-6 hours of battery depending on usage so you're going to need some additional power when out and about.
The INIU 20,000mAh Portable Charger will extend the battery life of your Switch 2 with its fast charging capabilities. It also sits snugly under the capacity limit should you want to take the power bank onto a plane with you.
MicroSD Express Card
The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with a base storage of 256 GB. While this is a lot more capacity over the Switch 1; with games also getting larger in size there's no telling how quickly this will fill up. Thankfully you can increase the storage with a microSD card just like with the Switch 1, but be warned, the Switch 2 only supports microSD Express. This is because of their faster reads over the previous gen and Nintendo decided to cut off anything slower.
Take a look at the SanDisk Micro SD Express to add an additional 256 GB storage to your Switch 2.
Case

If you're taking your Switch 2 out with you or keeping it in a backpack then you'll want to protect it from dirt and from being knocked about. With the console being bigger than the Switch 1, your old case will no longer be able to fit the console in.
The Lmcpa case protects your Switch 2 and additionally have capacity to fit in multiple game cards for both Switch 1 & 2.
Screen Protector

Look, you're going to want to protect your new Nintendo Switch 2's screen. Now that it's bigger it's only going to attract scratches easier. Get yourself a screen protector and don't keep your screen in perfect condition.
