How To Refuel Your Truck in Hydroneer
From the very start of the game you are given a truck that makes it a whole lot more convenient getting around the world and transporting items to and fro your dig sites.
However, what is not immediately clear is that your truck has fuel and it can run out. Once it's out of fuel it'll no longer be possible to move, leaving you stranded.
One thing to note that vehicles in Hydroneer run on water in the base game and lava in the Volcalidus DLC.
How to Refuel Your Truck
The first step is to find where your truck's fuel tank is. Hop onto the top of the vehicle and you'll find a tank containing water. Although if you are already out of fuel then this will be empty.
Once you know where the tank is located, the next step is to grab an empty bucket or pan and drop it into a river to fill it up with water.
Hop back onto the top of your truck holding your pan/bucket and position your drop indicator above the tank. This indicator helps you aim so that you don't miss the tank.
When in position, pour the water into the tank by clicking your left mouse button. If you have done this correctly you will see the level of water in the tank increase slightly. You may need to repeat this a few times to get a full tank.
Refueling Tips
- Always keep a pan/bucket on the back of your truck so that you can refuel your truck if you run out of fuel while away from your dig site.
- Make a refueling station. Pipes that don't have a cork will drip water out of the end. If you put a piping system above your truck you can use this to fill the truck's tank.
- These tips work in the Volcalidus DLC, too. Just swap lava for water.
