When and Where to Watch

You can watch the Nintendo Direct on Nintendo's website, or directly on Youtube.

The live stream is scheduled to start on 21st June at 7 am PT, 10 am ET. That's 3 pm for those in the UK.

What to Expect

New details on Pikmin 4 have been confirmed via Nintendo's announcement on Twitter. Pikmin 4 releases on the 21st of July and beyond that there are a few big titles planned for the remaining year.

Unless Nintendo plans to surprise us with Metroid Prime 4 - we don't know much else about what to expect. Nintendo has the habit of chucking in a few surprises, and we could expect to hear more about the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

For those hoping to hear any news of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo did announce the season pass for BotW, 3 weeks before its launch. So far for TotK, nothing. Considering the success of the DLC added to Breath of the Wild - Nintendo's first time adding DLC to a Zelda game. I wouldn't rule out getting an announcement for a season pass.

As for me, do I dare ask Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD on the Switch? Since the closure of the Wii U store, there is currently no way to obtain the game (legally).

Will we see a Nintendo Switch 2?

It's been over six years since we got the Nintendo Switch. With the Switch now showing its end of life, lack of upcoming game announcements... I don't believe we are far off.

However, I don't think we'll see anything substantial in this Nintendo Direct. If anything, I would bet on a subtle tease. But certainly, not a full-fledged announcement as we saw with the original Switch. I believe we will get a separate announcement for any potential successor to the Switch - it's just a question of "when".
